After Lavernock I called in at Llanerch wood to see what was about and could not find any Large Red Damsels only Blue-tailed Damsels.

At the small pond there were plenty of Large Red damsels on and around the pond with quite a few in tandem some even ovipositing, I also found on the bankside vegetation some Blue-tailed damsels.

I did catch a glimse of a Dragonfly but it flew over the hedge so could not ident.

Penallta Parc & Parc Cwm Darran. 06/05/2018

At Penallta's horseshoe ponds there was a small emergence of Large Red Damsels early morning but some must have emerged the previous evening because as I walked past the bankside vegetation clouds of Adults took off.

At Parc Cwm Darran things are a little later as there were very few casts on the reeds and no adults around the Dragonfly ponds although I did find some away from the ponds.

Lavernock NR 22/04/2018

The Dragon season has started.
Sunday at Lavernock NR I found my first dragon of the year a Large Red Damselfly. Early in the morning there were alot of damsels emerging at the small pond and as the day warmed up I found alot of adults around the site.

Creigiau 12 September

Walking around the perimeter of the Creigiau Recreation Ground yesterday morning and spotted this. Have seen very few dragonflies this year, but think this is a female Common Darter - a bit darker than others I've seen.
