Llanerch ponds - 09 August
Llanerch for lunch so took the opportunity to have a walk around the ponds.
A male Emperor was 'on patrol' but didn't settle anywhere for a photo! Lots of Blue-tailed Damsels around, some in tandem, and several male Common Darter basking on the paths but nothing else.

Parc Slip 31/07/2016
Not alot about at this site not helped by the clogged up pool by the visitor centre which is normally good for Damsels, I did find some female Common Darters basking on a gate by the path leading along the stream. At the pool under the bird hide I did find an Emerald Damsel and a bit further along on the bottom path I found a male Golden Ringed Dragonfly but that was all!!
Kenfig NNR 31/07/2016
Took a walk along the East side of the pool and found alot of Common Blue Damsels and Common Darters around the poolside vegetation. Near the top end by the reed beds I found a couple of male Emperors, Black-tailed Skimmers and a single male Ruddy Darter. On the pools at the top end a pair of Emperors where mating and some Emerald Damsels were present.
I then moved on to Parc Slip.

Weather not perfect for Dragon hunting but gave it a go. At Penallta I found a couple of female Common Darters and a few Blue-tailed Damsels and nothing else so moved onto PCD where I could only find Azure Damsels before the rain set in.
Hope the weather improves.

Barry Sidings & Gelliwion Forestry, Hopkinstown. 22/07/2016
Last Friday I spent a couple of hours at a local pool looking for dragons but there were only damsels to be found, Blue-tailed, Large Red, Azure and Common Blues. Walking around the forestry I did find one dragon a lone male Golden Ringed, then by a couple of small pools a few male Common Darters and male Black-tailed Skimmers.
